I love see different interpretations of a traditional quilt style style like Log Cabin. This design, Log Cabin Akimbo by Marlous Designs, is a fast and easy fat-quarter-friendly design, with the basis for the block being Courthouse Step, which is cut up and sewn to create a new look.
This design is suited to any fabriic that sparks your imagination. The Aboriginal designs from M & S Textiles recently caught my eye–they’re definitely unique and quite beautiful.
