Free Pattern – Durham Bag by Lecien + Durham Quilt Collection

Lucien Bag

The Durham Bag, by Lecien, incorporates a number of interesting-to-sew features, including a quilted body, leather pre-made handles, covered buttons and sewn floral embellishments. The bag is also sewn primarily using fat quarters–so it’s another creative way to use those piles of fat quarters you’ve got sitting around in your sewing room. I particularly like the idea of using sturdy leather handles on a roomy tote bag, because I tend to haul a lot of stuff around with me, and my bag handles sure do take a beating as a result. This project features florals from Lecien’s Durham Quilt line. Primarily featuring rosy pinks and soft leafy greens, it’s an attractive, feminine line that fits nicely with this quilted tote bag. Check it out in the slideshow below.
